The Toy Fair Exhibition claims it has sold out its expanded Olympia show footprint two months before its 60th annual event.
The trade show returns to Olympia on 22-24 January 2013 and will extend out from the venue’s Grand Hall to also include the recently-refurbished West Hall. Event director Simon Pilling said more than 230 companies will be featured in comparison to 218 this year, including 53 first-time exhibitors.
A further 21 companies are returning with bigger stands, while 41 exhibitors will be featured in The Greenhouse, a zones focused on emerging brands that celebrates its 10th anniversary next year. Manufacturers that have confirmed attendance include Bandai, Character Options, Lego, Spin Master, Drumond Park and Golden Bear.
The increased floorplan will also allow for a bespoke space for the Toy Industry Awards, which will be staged on the first night. The exhibition and awards are organised by the British Toy and Hobby Association.
“It’s fantastic to sell out Toy Fair, once again well in advance of the show opening,” Pilling said.
“Toy Fair 2013 has been an ambitious project for us as an association. Having sold the 2012 show floor space within three months of the January event closing, we decided to expand into the upper West Hall and incorporate the Toy Industry Awards into the floor plan.
“It gives me great pleasure in fulfilling our plans to incorporate more companies.”
